My Passion in Music

I am proficient in playing many instruments, including Chinese Dizi (bamboo flute), Dulcimer, and Erhu , On my website I will introduce my solo CDs one by one with my composition and background music, which are played by these instruments.

The music I play is guided by my heart, not only by techniques. I was professionally trained in traditional Chinese music since I was a child. And now, I have been living and working in Australia for more than 18 years. My music is influenced by the Chinese and western cultures. I combine traditional performing style with western feeling and emotion. With the special characteristics of traditional Chinese instruments, the music I perform conveys a unique message about life, love and nature which touches my audience.

We all live our life with past, present and future. My music is to arouse our memories so we can embrace every present moment of our life. Music is about dreams, illusions and even imaginations. Whenever I perform, I try to communicate with my audience through my instruments. I pay special attention to vibrato, crescendo and decrescendo to form the bridge of the communication. I produce deep and weak vibrato in different parts of the music to express my feeling. I hope this feeling will stimulate my audience to form theirs.
